Junior Squash

Hi [[firstname]]

Further to the email from Kevin re Junior Squash @ Blackheath I am pleased to confirm that the Junior sessions are to resume from Saturday 7th May 2022 @ 9:00am.

For the first week we will start with one session and see what the numbers look like, and going forward we will probably run two sessions, one from 9:00am until 10:30am, and another from 10:30am until 12 noon. We will split out the players based on age and current ability.

The sessions will be a mix of exercise, coaching and games but the emphasis will be on the players having fun while getting some exercise and meeting others in a friendly and safe environment. Please note that eye protection MUST be worn at all times when on court.

The first session will also be free and we can provide eye protection and racquets for this session, but going forward, and if the players like the sessions, we will ask them to provide eye protection as these get damaged and the players don't tend to look after them if we provide them. I can help source these if required and they cost around £15 to £20 depending on the brand.

We will provide all other equipment going forward but feel free to let them use their own racquet if they have one. We also ask that they wear non-marking trainers so that the floors don't get marked. After the first session we will charge £5 for the session and will look to running blocks of eight weeks with the cost paid up front, as that makes it easier to manage the finances. The blocks will run similar to term times.

We will also require a consent form which we would ask to be completed and brought along to the first session. The form is available to download from the junior section on the Blackheath Squash Club website
https://www.blackheathsquashclub.com/juniors

Please also bring along a water bottle or similar that players can use as we want to ensure safety, especially with the current COVID issues. There is tap water available if needed on site.

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like clarification.

Best regards

Danny
