Hi, the current late cancellation period on the booking system is after 12 noon on the day of the booking. In recent times there has been an increase in the number of bookings cancelled just before 12. This does not give much time for other players to find a partner and arrange to play that evening and leaves courts unbooked. Also if a court is cancelled after 12 noon there is very little time for other members to arrange to play and if the court is not re-booked the member who cancelled is charged the late booking fee of £3.
The Squash Committee has therefore decided to change the late cancellation period to 12 noon on the day before the booking. This will give more time for other members to arrange a game, increase the number of courts re-booked and reduce the number of late cancellation charges.
So if you cancel after 12 noon on the day before your booking you will be charged £3 if the court is not re-booked. If the court is re-booked you will not be charged. It is therefore in all members' interests for cancellations to be made as early as possible.
The change will come into effect for bookings made on Monday 7 August, so the current cancellation policy will be applicable up to and until 6 August however, from 12 noon on Sunday 6 August the new cancellation policy will be effective for Monday 7 August bookings.
