Hi, we are keen to re-start our popular Friday evening Club Nights and would like to establish a small group of volunteers to host Club Nights on a rota basis so the same host does not have to attend every week. We are looking for between 4 and 6 volunteers.
The primary aims of Club Night are to help make the Club accessible to non-members who are thinking of joining; giving new members the opportunity to meet other members, a social occasion for more established members and lastly to have a hit on court! Its open to all whatever level of play. It follows that the level of playing ability of the host does not matter, its more about facilitating a friendly, relaxed and sociable evening for all.
Club Night will be held on Friday evenings starting at 7.30pm (Court 1) and 7.45 (Court 2) for 90 minutes a court, finishing at 9pm (Court 1) and 9.15 (Court 2). The host's responsibilities are to meet and greet attendees, in particular non-members who want to try out the Club and new members who are looking to meet other members, have a chat with non-members who want to know more about how the Club works and rotate play so everyone gets some time on court.
We can arrange for new hosts to be mentored for an evening if needed and will take regular feedback from hosts on how the evenings are going.
Lastly, we will make Club Night a free event so as to remove the need for the host to collect the current modest attendance fee from attendees and the admin hassle of paying the collected fees to the Club's bank account.
